๐ Youth Employment Update โ August 2026
Across Canada, youth employment declined by 19,000 jobs in August, a decrease of 0.7%. Despite this monthly decline, the overall picture remains stronger than last year.
In August 2026, 55.1% of youth were employed, up 1.2 percentage points compared with August 2025.
These trends highlight both the challenges and resilience of Canadaโs youth labour market as young people continue to navigate work, education, and career opportunities.

Career development is intensely client-facing work. We are trained to listen, to hold space, to sit with someoneโs ambiguity without rushing to resolve it. Those are real skills and they are usually why someone gets promoted.
