Business Conditions in Canada, Q3 2025

Over two-thirds of Canadian businesses are optimistic about the year ahead, despite ongoing challenges with labour shortages, inflation, and rising costs.

According to the latest Canadian Survey on Business Conditions, nearly one-third of businesses expect labour-related obstacles, while many are planning strategic responses to U.S. tariffs—such as increasing domestic sourcing or seeking new suppliers.

Interestingly, 14.5% of businesses plan to adopt AI to enhance operations in the coming year.

What's In The News?

Latest updates!

The underemployment of recent post-secondary graduates remains a persistent and serious issue in both Canada and the United States.

Underemployment refers to the situation in which individuals with a bachelor’s degree are employed in positions that do not require that level of training, skill or credential.

In recent years, how people get hired has started to change.

Many employers are no longer just looking at resumes.

Instead, they are paying closer attention to skills – what someone can actually do. This shift is changing how jobseekers prepare and how companies hire, and it could mean a fairer and more effective job market for everyone.
