At WPH, we are actively engaged in researching  Hamilton’s Green Economy. Our objective is to uncover insights on the current status of Hamilton’s local Green Economy, providing a  comprehensive overview  of the region’s  Clean Economy landscape. Our goal is to identify both macro and micro-level changes that local businesses are implementing to foster a Greener Hamilton.

Early Childhood Educators (ECEs)  are the backbone of our society. However, it is estimated that there will be a  shortage of over 8,000 Early Learning Professionals  over the next few years. To understand and identify the pain-points of recruiting and retaining ECE’s in the region, WPH teamed up with McMaster Research Shop to gauge the Early Learning Sector.

The  Hamilton Business Survey ( Formerly  Employer Onesurvey allows local employers to speak on barriers, challenges, and successes faced in their day-to-day business operations.

 

The survey is administered by workforce development boards across Ontario. The survey is intended to identify and alleviate labour market shortages, support local access to training through employer needs and identify local sector-specific priorities and concerns.

Homelessness Support Toolkit

📊 Hamilton Launches Homelessness Support Toolkit for BIAs


Following a survey of 342 local businesses,  82%  reported that nearby homeless encampments have had an impact on their operations— 31%  described it as extreme, * 23% major, and * 20% moderate.

 

In response,  Hamilton Economic Development  has created a  Homelessness Support Toolkit  for Business Improvement Areas. The toolkit includes  practical guidance,  key  contact numbers,  and resources to help you respond compassionately and effectively when encountering individuals experiencing homelessness in your BIA.

Calling all Black disabled entrepreneurs and dreamers!

The  Entrepreneurship Affinity Group  is launching monthly sessions to support you in building and growing your business or social enterprise.

✨ This is part of the  National Black Disability Coalition.  Fill out the membership form to join as in an Affinity Group (Youth, Entrepreneurship, Research & Policy, or Health).

🆓 Membership is free,  and honoraria are provided to Affinity Group members.
