Early Childhood Education Report

WPH has always strongly felt that the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Sector is an important backbone of our society. Without reliable and affordable childcare, parents are unable to go to work, therefore impacting our local workforce and economy.

The Ministry of Education estimates Ontario will require 8,500 additional ECE’s and childcare workers by 2026. Lower wages in the ECE sector are often discussed, but for this research we wanted to dig deeper into the pain points of our local ECE’s.

Through interviews and surveys, we reached over 130 Hamilton-based ECE’s (and similar professions) to hear their feedback on the issues within Hamilton’s ECE sector.
